Summary:
HB 2906, known as the Collaborative Practice for Emergency Contraception Act, allows a pharmacist to initiate emergency contraception drug therapy in accordance with standardized procedures and protocols developed by the pharmacist and a licensed health care professional licensed to prescribe medications who is acting within his or her scope of practice. Prior to performing any procedure authorized under this law, a pharmacist shall have completed a training program on emergency contraception, delivered by then American council on pharmaceutical education providers or another training program approved by the state board of pharmacy.
