Plastic surgery is the name given to a number of medical procedures that are involved in the correction, restoration, and enhancement of the human form. While plastic surgery is used for patients who are recovering from accidents and injury, a number of techniques have become common for cosmetic purposes. There are literally millions of cosmetic plastic surgeries performed every year, as well as nearly ten million minimally invasive cosmetic procedures such as botox injections and laser hair removal. There are also a number of more invasive yet still popular cosmetic plastic surgeries, including liposuction, nose jobs, facelifts, breast augmentation, and eyelid surgery (Augen OP Berlin) .
Liposuction involves the removal of various deposits of fat with a vacuum like tube, and is often performed around the upper thigh and buttock area. Liposuction is one of the most common cosmetic surgeries taking place today. Rhinoplasty, more commonly known as nose jobs, are another common procedure and involve the reshaping of a person’s nose. Rhinoplasty is common for both men and women. Breast augmentation, also known as mammoplasty, is another relatively common procedure that involves enlarging a women’s breast area with special silicon or saline solutions. Eyelid surgery is another fairly common surgical procedure, especially for middle aged women. It is similar in some ways to a facelift, and involves the removal of extra fat, muscle, and skin.
Facelifts also involve the removal of excessive fat and muscle tissue, along with the redraping and tightening of the surrounding skin. This is another procedure that is favoured by middle aged women who are starting to show the natural signs of aging. One other cosmetic plastic surgery procedure I will mention is known as a tummy tuck, which involves the flattening of the abdomen and the removal of fat and skin. While all of these procedures are performed thousands of times every year, it is important to remember that each and every one of them involves a major surgical operation. Even the most common types of plastic surgery can be dangerous, and having them performed is a decision that should not be taken lightly by anyone.
